Barbados was incredibly rejuvenating for me. I realize it is virtually imperative to spend time with other strong, fun women. In celebration of my friend's bachelorette, I toured the island boat side, got a taste of the delicious Barbadian cuisine, met a few Bajans who were welcoming and beautiful, had great conversation with other women, and laughed and danced like I haven't done in a long time. I was so tired Monday morning after my return home that I put the eggs back into the freezer instead of the refrigerator. However, it is now Tuesday and I am feeling rejuvenated and mentally refreshed. Traveling can put quite a dent on your wallet, but prioritizing spending time in person with your people is so important. However you are able to do that. And if you're physically far away from many of your loved ones and traveling is a challenge, making new friends and community is important - (something I truly need to work on, especially as a somewhat new mother). Family and the friends who you make family are your connection to the world and to yourself. We learn from each other and can help one another grow and navigate our life journeys. Personally, I am working on strengthening my relationships, and this trip seems to be like a step in the right direction!
Ok, I think I wrote that last part out as self advice haha. Aside from the fun and personal connections, I enjoyed packing for this trip! This week I will share my Barbados style, including this blue dress by AFRM and wide brimmed hat from Goorin Bros.
